Well, I'm willing to share my worst kitchen disaster! I decided to make Beef Wellington for the first time ever. My three kids at the time were all under the age of 6 and very antsy since it was Christmas Eve. I was following the recipe from a cookbook put together by a popular women's group. After assembling the Beef Wellington, wrapping it in pastry, decorating the top, I put it in the oven. Unbeknownst to me the recipe had a typo. It said to roast for 15 minutes rather than 15 min per pound. My husband and kids waited and waited and waited for it to be done. Finally, they wound up just eating the side dishes and dessert while I cried. They all declared the green beans to be delicious, lol. Then my dear husband bathed the kids and put them to bed. The Wellington finally was done and we ate it the next day but I've learned my lesson to never try a new-to-me recipe on a major holiday!

I would have cried too. All that work in anticipation of a lovely Christmas Eve meal.

Yes, I had big plans that went awry. But it was a good learning moment for me.
